One of the most requested tasks of me is moving someone’s application from one server environment to another. Often times an owner of a website is fed up with the hosting and want to move to someone new and they do not know how to properly move the app. More so than ever moving the app may damage it without the proper search and replace at a database level. When this comes up people hire me to do it for them safely and correctly.

Some of my experiences in regards to application migrations:

• Experience in moving both ASP.Net and PHP web applications.
• Understanding of both Linux and Windows file permissions systems.
• Understanding of IIS permission structure as well as Apache.
• Ability to migrate plus create an automated strategy so less work is done in the future.
• Ability to create a step-by-step for any other system administrator or for documentation purposes.
• Ability to create helpful tutorial videos that show our users exactly what to do.
